Welcome to Money Manager: Track Spending ("App", "we", "our", or "us"). We are an independent developer committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about how your information is handled.

This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data. By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

We do not collect any personal data without your explicit permission. Data collection and cloud sync only occur when you choose to create an account and sign in to the App.

3. Data We Do Not Collect Without Permission

We respect your privacy. We do not collect, store, or process any personal information unless you explicitly provide it by creating an account and signing in to the App. Specifically:

  • We do not collect data from users who use the App in offline/guest mode.
  • We do not track your location, browsing behavior, or device usage patterns.
  • We do not run any analytics, advertising SDKs, or behavioral tracking tools.
  • We do not share your data with any third-party companies, advertisers, or data brokers under any circumstances.
  • We do not sell your personal data. Ever.

4. Information We Collect (With Your Permission)

When you choose to create an account and sign in to the App to enable cross-device sync, we collect the following information solely for the purpose of providing that service:


4.1 Account & Authentication Data

  • Email address (used for account creation and login)
  • Encrypted password or authentication token (via Firebase Authentication)
  • Display name (optional, only if you provide one)

4.2 Financial Data You Enter

All financial data is entered voluntarily by you. This includes:

  • Expense records (amount, category, date, notes)
  • Income records (amount, source, date, notes)
  • Monthly budget limits you set
  • Shared budget details you create with family members
  • Spending categories and custom labels

This data is stored securely in Firebase Firestore under your unique user account and is used exclusively to sync your data across your own devices.


4.3 Device & Technical Data

To provide core app functionality and improve stability, we may automatically collect limited technical data:

  • Device type and operating system version (iOS version)
  • App version number
  • Crash logs and error reports (via Firebase Crashlytics, if enabled)

This technical data does not include any personally identifiable information and is used solely for debugging and improving app performance.


4.4 Notification Preferences

If you enable daily budget notifications, we store your notification preference settings locally on your device. We do not access or transmit your notification content to any server.

5. How We Use Your Information

We use the information collected solely for the following purposes:

  • To create and manage your account securely.
  • To sync your financial data (expenses, income, budgets) across multiple devices that you own and are signed in with the same account.
  • To enable the Shared Budget feature, allowing you to share a budget view with family members you explicitly invite.
  • To send you daily budget and spending reminders via push notifications, only if you have granted notification permission.
  • To generate in-app expense reports and budget tracking summaries for your personal use.
  • To diagnose technical issues and improve app stability.

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, marketing, or any purpose beyond what is listed above.

6. Firebase & Cloud Storage

Money Manager uses Google Firebase — a platform provided by Google LLC — as its backend infrastructure for authenticated users. Firebase services used include:


6.1 Firebase Authentication

Handles secure account creation and login. Your credentials are managed and encrypted by Firebase and are never stored in plain text.


6.2 Firebase Firestore

Your financial data (expenses, income, budgets) is stored in a secure, private Firestore database. Access is protected by security rules that ensure only your authenticated account can read or write your data. Other users, including us, cannot access your financial records.


6.3 Firebase Crashlytics (Optional)

If crash reporting is enabled, anonymized crash logs are sent to help us identify and fix bugs. These logs do not contain any of your financial data or personally identifiable information.

Your data stored in Firebase is protected using industry-standard encryption both in transit (TLS/HTTPS) and at rest.


7. Shared Budget Feature

The Shared Budget feature allows you to create a collaborative budget and invite family members to view or contribute to it. Please note:

  • You control who is invited to a shared budget. Only users you explicitly invite can access the shared budget data.
  • Shared budget data is stored in Firebase Firestore and is accessible only to the members you add.
  • You can remove a member from a shared budget or delete the shared budget at any time.
  • Invited members will be able to see the shared budget's transactions and limits — please only invite people you trust.

8. Data Sharing & Third Parties

We do not sell, trade, rent, or share your personal information or financial data with any third party for commercial or marketing purposes. Period.

Your data is shared in the following limited circumstances only:

  • With Firebase (Google LLC) solely as a technical infrastructure provider to store and sync your data. Firebase processes data as a data processor on our behalf and is bound by strict data protection terms.
  • With family members you explicitly invite to a Shared Budget, limited only to that shared budget's data.
  • If required by law, regulation, or a valid legal process (e.g., a court order), we may disclose the minimum necessary information. We will notify you where legally permitted to do so.

There are no advertising SDKs, analytics platforms, data brokers, or any other third-party integrations embedded in this App.

9. Data Retention

Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. You have full control over your data:

  • You can delete individual expenses, income entries, or budgets at any time within the App.
  • You can delete your entire account and all associated data from the App's Settings > Account > Delete Account. Upon deletion, all your data is permanently removed from Firebase within 30 days.
  • Data stored locally on your device (offline mode) is deleted when you uninstall the App.

10. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Right to Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Right to Correction: Request that we correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Right to Deletion: Request deletion of your account and all associated data.
  • Right to Portability: Request your data in a portable format.
  • Right to Withdraw Consent: Withdraw your consent for data processing at any time by deleting your account.

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at the email address listed in Section 2. We will respond to your request within 30 days.

11. Push Notifications

The App may request permission to send you push notifications for daily spending reminders and budget alerts. Specifically:

  • Notifications are entirely optional and require your explicit permission via the iOS system permission dialog.
  • You can enable or disable notifications at any time in your device's Settings > Notifications > Money Manager.
  • Notification content is generated locally on your device and does not involve transmitting data to any external server.

12. Children's Privacy

Money Manager: Track Spending is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal data, please contact us immediately and we will delete that information promptly.

13. Data Security

We take the security of your financial data seriously. The following security measures are in place:

  • All data transmitted between the App and Firebase is encrypted using TLS (Transport Layer Security).
  • All data stored in Firebase Firestore is encrypted at rest using AES-256 encryption.
  • Firebase Authentication uses industry-standard secure token-based authentication.
  • Firebase security rules are configured to ensure that only the authenticated account owner can access their data.
  • We do not store your password in plain text at any time.

While we implement strong security practices, no system is 100% immune to breaches. In the event of a data breach that affects your personal information, we will notify you as required by applicable law.

14. International Data Transfers

Firebase (Google LLC) may store and process data in data centers located outside of your country. By using the App and creating an account, you consent to the transfer of your information to Google's infrastructure in accordance with Google's data processing terms and applicable data protection laws.

Google LLC complies with applicable data protection frameworks including GDPR Standard Contractual Clauses for international data transfers.

15. Offline / Guest Mode

If you use the App without signing in, all your data is stored locally on your device only. In this mode:

  • No data is sent to any server or cloud service.
  • We have no access to your locally stored data.
  • Your data will be lost if you uninstall the App or change your device, as there is no cloud backup in guest mode.

Signing in is optional and is provided solely for the convenience of cross-device sync.

16. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, or legal requirements. When we make changes:

  • The updated policy will be posted within the App and on the App Store listing.
  • The "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy will be revised.
  • For material changes that affect how we handle your data, we will notify you through an in-app notification or email (if you have an account).

Your continued use of the App after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.

17. Apple App Store & Platform Compliance

This App is distributed through the Apple App Store and complies with Apple's App Store Review Guidelines and Apple's privacy requirements, including:

  • App Privacy Nutrition Labels: We accurately disclose data collection practices in the App Store listing under App Privacy.
  • AppTrackingTransparency: We do not use the IDFA (Identifier for Advertisers) and do not track users across apps or websites owned by other companies.
  • Sign in with Apple: If Sign in with Apple is offered as a login option, it is implemented in compliance with Apple's guidelines.
  • HealthKit / Sensitive Frameworks: This App does not access HealthKit, Contacts, Photos, Camera, or other sensitive device data.
